Education System
Poland’s university traditions are among the oldest in Europe. In 1364, King Casimir the Great established the Cracow Academy known today as Jagiellonian University. Since the beginning of system transformation, the higher education system of the country has been developing rapidly.
A large part of the Polish higher education market is made up of private colleges and universities. There are about 310 privately owned universities and colleges and 138 state schools of higher learning. This has resulted in a high level of competition that has given Poland lower prices for studying than in many other European countries.
The higher education system is one of high quality and most leading universities offer programmes thought in English, within study areas such as medicine, engineering, humanities, business and finance. More than 100 higher education institutions in Poland offers study programmes in English.
The Bologna Process
Poland has taken an active part in the Bologna Process. As a member of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) allows students to be geographically mobile and continue their education in countries within and beyond Europe.
Much like most countries in the EHEA, the Polish education consist of 3 cycles, 3 years of Bachelor's degree, 2 years of Masters and 3 to 4 years of Doctorate degree.
Some long cycle studies take about 4 to 6 year to complete a Master degree. These studies include the field in medicine, dental, medical analysis, pharmacy, veterinary, psychology, acting, law, art conservation and restoration and photography.

The grading system in Poland has a somewhat particular grading scale.
5.0 - A
4.5 - B+
4.0 - B
3.5 - C+
3.0 - C, Passing Mark
2.0 - D, Unclassified (Fail)
Entry for Malaysian Student
Polish higher education system admits any students with at 12 years of education prior to their tertiary studies. Students with a qualification such as STPM, UEC, A-Level, International Baccalaureat, AUSMAT or CIMP is accepted for Polish higher education admission.
