Frequently Asked Questions

Express Pathway Programmes

How is a pathway programme different from doing A-Levels or foundation?

A-Levels and foundation programmes are general pre-university qualifications that keep your options open. A pathway programme is destination-specific: it is designed to meet the exact entry requirements of universities in a particular country, often with guaranteed progression. This means less time spent on subjects you do not need and a clearer route to your degree.

What if my SPM results are below average?

Pathway programmes exist specifically for students whose results do not meet direct university entry. Some routes, such as the Canadian OSSD, let you earn a new Grade 12 qualification regardless of your SPM grades. Others have flexible entry thresholds. Our counsellors assess your transcript and recommend the route with the best fit, not the highest bar.

Will employers treat a pathway degree the same as a direct-entry degree?

Yes. You graduate with the same accredited degree as any other student at that university. Your certificate does not mention the pathway. Irish Honours degrees, for example, sit on the NFQ Level 8 framework regardless of whether you entered in Year 1 or Year 3.

Can I switch to a different pathway or destination after I have started?

In most cases, yes, though how easy it is depends on how far along you are. If you are still in the Malaysian phase (diploma or foundation), switching destination is usually straightforward. Once you have enrolled at a foreign university, transferring is more complex. Talk to our counsellors early if your plans change.

What support does Mystudy provide during the programme?

Mystudy supports you from initial consultation through to arrival abroad. This includes university selection, application preparation, scholarship guidance, visa documentation, accommodation advice, and pre-departure briefings. All of this is free. Once you are enrolled, our partner institutions provide on-campus support for international students.
